Pre-requisits for Prayer Chaplain Class of 2011
Are you considering becoming a Unity Prayer Chaplain? The bar has been raised for those who desire to enter the Prayer Chaplain Program for 2011. If this program is resonating within you, you will want to begin the application process asap. You are asked to apply now because of the church membership schedules and Unity class requirements. This also provides enough time for planning your personal time away so as to not interfere with your 13 weeks of Prayer Chaplain training. (Typically March, April and May) When you are ready to complete an application, call the Pastoral Care Coordinator, Rev. Dick Everts, 360-885-4615, for an application form and set an appointment to review the Prayer Chaplain program. During the interview we will review your application, discuss church membership and your academic plan to assure qualifications for the Class of 2011 are fully met. Listed below are the pre-requisits and process for entering the Prayer Chaplain Program in 2011: Ø An active attendee of Unity Church of Portland, UCP for one year prior to being accepted into the the Prayer Chaplain Program Ø CP membership is required prior to being accepted into the Prayer Chaplain Program. Ø Complete one Basic Unity class for SEE credit (I.e. How I used Truth, Lesson's in Truth, Discover the Power within You, Christian Healing, etc.) and one Unity Prayer class for SEE credit (How I Used Truth, Life of Prayer, or other Prayer/Meditation class taught for SEE credit) prior to being accepted into the Prayer Chaplain Program. Ø Complete Unity Church of Portland leadership course, Spiritual Dimensions, prior to being accepted into the Prayer Chaplain program. (All chaplains are required to take this course as a part of their Leadership training. Ø All chaplain Candidates will have a Background Check prior to being accepted into the Prayer Chaplain Program.
